Kenshin Himura finds himself wandering in Tokyo, Kamiya Kaoru stopped him and
accuses him of being the Hitokiri Battousai. She tried to attack him, but failed since he
keeps dodging her attacks but falls backwards. A large man attacks some villagers
calming to be the Hitokiri Battousai, so she rushes up to the scene to fight him. But the man is
too big and too strong for her so she got injured during the fight, that's when
Kenshin saved her from being pulverized.

Years back when the big guy was a student at the Kamiya dojo,
he injured a fellow student with a real sword
(the school normally used bokken). Kaoru's father, who happens to be the teacher, expelled
him after paralyzing his right hand for the crime of injuring others. Humiliated Gohei trains
himself and plots to take revenge by killing in the name of Kamiya Kasshin Ryuu
to discredit the school.

Later that night after Kaoru had this relevation she is surprised to see
that Kenshin's not in the shed where she locked him for peeping on her in the bath.
When she went back to the Dojo she's finds Gohei(the killer) waiting for her
at the Dojo along with his pupils, wounded, she's defenseless against Gohei.
Just as he was about to have his men kill Kaoru, Kenshin comes back and defeats the villains.
It was quite a shock for everyone when Kenshin confess that he's the real
Battousai. When he was about to leave, Kaoru stopped him and told him that she doesn't
care about his past.
